Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree allowing Chinese citizens to enter Russia without a visa for up to 30 days.
Chinese citizens will be able to travel to Russia without a visa. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree granting visa-free travel to Chinese citizens. Under the decree, artists and athletes, as well as those traveling for tourism, business, or academic purposes, will be able to travel to Russia without a visa for up to 30 days. However, the decision will not apply to Chinese migrant workers, long-term students, or those working in the logistics and transportation sectors.
The measure, which will remain in effect until September 14, 2026, was taken in response to Beijing's decision to grant visa-free entry to China to many categories of Russian citizens.
China also announced in September that it would grant Russian citizens visa-free travel to China for up to 30 days for one year starting September 15.
