In July 2025, accommodation providers in Germany recorded 56.7 million overnight stays by domestic and foreign guests.
According to preliminary results from the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), this was 1.2 percent less than in July 2024.
Slight decline in overnight stays by domestic and foreign guests
The number of overnight stays by domestic guests fell by 1.1% to 46.2 million in July 2025 compared with July 2024. At the same time, the number of overnight stays by foreign guests fell by 1.3% to 10.5 million.
January to July 2025: Number of overnight stays almost reaches previous year's record level
In the first seven months of 2025, accommodation providers recorded a total of 279.9 million overnight stays. This was slightly (-0.2%) below the peak of 280.4 million in the period from January to July 2024.
