Deadly shark attack in Australia

A surfer has died after being attacked by a large shark in Australia.

The 57-year-old surfer lost his life after being attacked by a large shark at Long Reef Beach in New South Wales, Australia. Police officer John Duncan noted that the experienced surfer lost several limbs and that his surfboard was split in two. Authorities stated that the incident occurred at 10:00 a.m. local time on Saturday, 100 meters offshore. It was reported that the broken surfboard was taken for examination and that efforts were underway to identify the species of shark.

Following this rare fatal attack, beaches in the area were closed. The name of the surfer who lost his life has not yet been released.
