Two people lost their lives due to the extreme heat in France.
The intense heat wave continues to affect Europe. Scorching heat in France led to loss of life. French Minister of Ecological Transition Agnes Pannier-Runacher stated in a statement that the country experienced the second hottest June since records began to be kept in 1900 and that 2 people lost their lives due to heat-related reasons. Minister Pannier-Runacher stated that fire brigades intervened in more than 300 people affected by the heat.
The heat wave is expected to peak today
Meteorological agency Meteo France reported that the air temperature reached 41.4 degrees Celsius in most of the country yesterday. It was also stated that the heat wave in the country is expected to reach its peak today. It was reported that only 4 regions, Aube, Cher, Loiret and Yonne, were on red alert.
