Katy Perry is under investigation for filming an unauthorized video on ecologically sensitive sand dunes in the Balearic Islands.
The globally renowned American singer Katy Perry is making headlines with her album after a long hiatus. However, she is now under scrutiny in Spain due to a video she filmed. Perry, who appeared in front of the cameras for her single "Lifetimes," is being investigated for filming an unauthorized video on ecologically sensitive sand dunes in the Balearic Islands.
In the footage, Perry is seen having fun on the dunes and partying in clubs, while the investigation is focused on whether any damage was done to the protected dunes on the island of S’Espalmador.
The Spanish government has announced that the production company responsible for the video did not obtain the necessary permits. Perry has not yet made a statement regarding the matter.
S’Espalmador, a remote islet located north of Formentera, has been a part of the Ses Salines Natural Park of Ibiza and Formentera since 1980.
