A statement from the Tenerife Emergency Services Coordination Center said the incident occurred in the Los Gigantes area on the southern coast of the island, where giant waves swept three people in the lagoon into the sea and they could not be rescued despite all efforts.
Authorities stated that a fourth person was also swept into the sea, but there was no clear information about their health condition yet. It was also stated that three people were injured as a result of the giant waves entering the lagoon, and one person suffered a heart attack and was taken to the hospital.
